not new to me...haha

i remember the days when there are at least 5-10 members who would participate in the contest, i even participated before and won. Hopefully someone would submit an entry so that we can still call this a contest. lol

I think a banner with the Toyko Tower and the yellow scarf-looking thing from the cover would look nice, but we don't really have a high quality source for the cover to make a 950x199 banner

While these two banners are just quick edits on the same theme, I prefer that last one that is similar to the current banner.

The last edit actually took the longest even though it was simply adding the title back in, because it's kind of hard to line them up the words (copy/pasted from the original cover because I'm not sure what font is used) horizontally by hand with a mouse. I tried to line them up with the same spacing as the original cover.

Although you say you prefer the second one, in my opinion, the last one is the best.

I actually meant the last image, since the first two images are just to be used for future editing.

In any case, the second image is way too big in terms of resolution and file size.

that will do, at least someone participated...haha. and i like the simplicity, very calming, it compliments with the sky.

and nice work for violet too...i can see that you really love photoshop.

i just do it for fun... u can use kenox banner instead of mine...i love his work too...sleek and simple....

I am just a bit disappointed because members participation has decreased and we should do the thinking, how to increase the participation....

I realized the second い (and the る) in the title was a bit higher than the first い so I realigned them. I used guidelines in photoshop this time instead of trying to do all of it by eye. It would have made more sense to do that in the first place, but I hadn't thought of doing that last time.

Thanks for the votes of confidence in this banner. I don't do much image editing these days but I really like the cover for this single.

I generally just lurk (not just here, but everywhere) unless I have something to say, but I enjoy reading the few topics here even if the community isn't very active. I think it's okay that there's less participation now, as long as the few that still participate have fun discussing their music.

For example, I still lurk (and occasionally post) at the Do As Infinity forum (www.daiforum.com), and even though the community there is very small now (DAI's popularity probably peaked around 2003-2004 and has never really returned since the disbanding and subsequent reformation), the people that still stick around to post enjoy the news and small discussions about the group even if the forum isn't as busy as ones focused on more popular artists.

^Exactly, I read a couple of forums too without participating because I don't like posting without a meaningful thing to say but that's not exactly a bad thing.

Iki reached it's peak with the international fanbase around the time they were creating songs for Naruto and Bleach so it's no surprise the level of participation on the forum has declined after they went on hiatus and focused their efforts in Japanese campaigns such as the song for the Olympics. I believe that they are even more of a household name in the land of the rising Sun, right now, but that doesn't exactly translate to more international fans.

The ting is, they keep doing good music and they keep being successful but every major artist has a time when they appeal to the mass audiences which, in turn, tend to leave after the big surge. But new fans come and go, that's just how it is.

I changed the theme a bit but I'm not too convinced.

What do you think? Should I change it?

I feel like the blue is a bit too saturated. Do you have a screenshot of the Haru Uta theme for comparison? I forgot what the background colors of the theme looked like already but I remember it was pleasant and easy on the eyes.

The font seems a bit too light too, but that might just be me.

There's also an extra L in the "calendar" button, but I'm not sure if you can fix that if the buttons are all together as a set. I'm curious, is it possible to change individual colors in a settings page somewhere or is it more of a whole set thing where you choose a theme and you have to take the theme as a whole?

For the color, I'm thinking something like this quick sample I just made:

This way the sky in the banner kind of blends in with the header background. Having a solid color for the background on the sides too might be more fitting than the current striped background. Something like a slightly darker blue so that the header as a whole remains distinct from the main background of the forums.

So, I changed the color surrounding the banner to fit your suggestion and corrected the image for the "Calendar" button which I didn't even notice at the time. Also, I changed the background to a dark blue gradient that reminded me of Haru Uta, like you suggested but I think it was a bit to dark so I changed it up to a light blue gradient.

The changes are nice. I was thinking of an overall darker theme, but the lighter background works well too.
