2019 - What is Ikimonogakari up to ?

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've been here. I currently have some free time so I tried to catch up with Ikimonogakari (so much nostalgia), so I might as well keep you all updated.

1. Kiyoe as the official singer of the Rugby World Cup

For all you sports lover, you might be happy to learn that last year Kiyoe has officially been appointed the official singer of the Rugby World Cup (currently taken place in Japan.) She sings the official theme in English called World in Union.

2. BSいきものがかり

To celebrate their comeback, Ikimonogakari had a special show. You can actually watch the show on their official YouTube channel. However the video is restricted to Japan viewers only, so here is an alternative link:

At the end of the show they announced that the group will host their very own TV show called BSいきものがかり (short for base of いきものがかり). You can bingewatch the episodes on their official YouTube channel. And great news, the episodes are not restricted.

3. Mizuno Yoshiki's HIROBA

In other news, this year Leader has opened a website called HIROBA: https://hiroba.tokyo/category/hiroba/

HIROBA is a collaborative space for creators, artists. Leader has interviewed numerous creators from different branch of the arts industry: musicians (Aoi Eir), mangakas (Yasuhisa Hara), music producers, etc.
Through HIROBA, he released two collaborative singles.
The first one featured Oda Kazumasa, the second one featured Takahashi Yu.

You can listened to one of the song of the single featuring Takahashi Yu. While the lyrics were written by Takahashi Yu, the melody was written by Leader.

4. A new album

Leader and Kiyoe have hinted on their respective social media that the group is currently working on a new album. There are currently no details on the album, nor its release date. But in 2019 the group has released 4 songs digitally, so we might expect the 4 songs to be on the album.

5. Bonus

Music Station has changed its time slot, so on Friday 18th October, it will hold a 3-hour special episode. Ikimonogakari has been announced as one of the guests.
Other guests include: Spitz, The Yellow Monkey, Official Hige Dandism, Cocco, Foorin, Makihara Noriyuki, Johnnys West, Blackpink, King & Prince, Sexy Zone, Nogizaka46.

Ikimonogakari is set to perform a medley. The only song announced for the medley is their January release "We do".
