Re: Suggest the best j-rock song
At first i only listen to Ikimono Gakari and nothing else more...but then i heard this guy singing the song "Closer" which was used as an Opening theme song for Naruto Shippuuden...and then i became curious and said to myself that i want to hear some of his songs...
I recommend this artist for you to listen to his album and i guarantee that you'll love his music especially if you love listening to rock/alternative/pop rock genres...
read all about him and download his album:
Click this thread:

Re: Suggest the best j-rock song
Try the following:
One OK Rock - I recommend this!
Beat Crusaders
High & Mighty Color - This guys have good instrumental skills, if u r into it.
Nami Tamaki
Superfly - sounds like rock in the 80s. but very catchy mood
These, though, are lighter than Larcenciel. easier to listen to, if I may say so.

Here is one of the albums of One OK Rock:
https://ikimonogakari.forumotion.com/download-f12/one-ok-rock-zeitakubyou-t333.htm
All the songs in this album are good j-rock.
Go to the Downloads section and you will find more.
Just do yourself a favor - search a bit.

Re: Suggest the best j-rock song
Lisa Komine - Sora no Saku
Hearts grow - kasanaru Kage
kaori - Tears infection
Porno Graffitti - Gifts
Sambomaster - Hikari no rock
Nanase Aikawa - Nostalgia
Do as infinity - summer days
here's a few suggestion, you can also look em up on u-tube just in case~
they all have vids~
but why only songs?~ it's better to take one album then delete the ones you don't like (Like for me, I usually delete the ballads)
There are always a hiddengem in every jrock/pop album.

glad to know that...im a solid ikimono gakari fan or i can also say solid kiyoe yoshioka fan...
Just try to listen to Joe Inoue's album ( i mean all of them) coz they're really good...but if you want to be specific...i fave songs like Closer, Maboroshi, One man band, Into Oblivion and Hello...but i would still push you to listen to the entire album...its a good album. Very light and pleasant to hear.
totally agree!
There are always a hiddengem in every jrock/pop album.
@bosjef hey i try to listen to some of "One Ok Rock" songs in youtube, and i said to myself this is the kind of rock music that i really want to hear, fast, upbeat and smokin' hot rock tune! Im interested to listen to their all of their songs. Thanks!
P.S. Give respect to this classic rock songs if you haven't heard them.
"Tactics" by Yellow Monkey (used as an ending theme for Rorouni Kenshin a.k.a Samurai X)
"I for You" by Luna Sea (used as an OST to "kamisama mou sukoshi/ God give me more time" drama)

About Superfly, definitely is not J-rock. She makes 60s and 70s Pop with an actual J-Pop style. ( I loooove her <3)

A shame that we will be not able to hear from them in some time. One of the members was arrested for groping a young lady at the train. Glad the lady and him could settle the matter outside court, but the future of the group is still undecided. Right now they should be promoting the release of the newer single and making the tour, and both things were canceled (single release, and tour)

Re: Suggest the best j-rock song
First review,
Joe Inoue
Man, he is good, and i mean really really good.
His songs are in a wide genre, very creative, i really like the fast drumming at the song closer.
His genre changed to american emo at the song nowhere, and his english are very good too. Im very impressed.
But
The fact that he is a One Man Band, or a solo artist, lower my interest point to his songs.
I really dont like a solo artist, cause im an instrument musician, i really love to hear and examine the different tone and style between instruments played by other musician
if it is a solo artist, even the additional band members played good, i just cant seem to like it, because it is only additional, it will change from one song to another,
I just cant find the beautiful thing from a solo artist.
its just like if kiyoe going solo, man, my love will decrease by 70%, i just.. cant, i cant like a solo artist,
i need to know the skills of each member, combining tones, creating together, improvisation of each instruments.
Joe Inoue is really really good though, but as i've said, even thoung his songs were amazing, i just cant like it like larcenciel

ONE OK ROCK
Now we are talking!
This is what ive been waiting for
A Band, cool songs, great instrument arrangements, great song arrangements, great skills, very rocky. Man, this is great, this band is amazing!
What i like about band more than solo artist is that the expansion of the instruments. in a band theres a guitar verse, guitar riffs, guitar solos, bass show off, bass intro, instruments show off.
once you noticed the beauty of an instruments skills, it is really addictable.
Like the guitar verse in ONE OK ROCK - doppleganger, man! thats ultra cool
instruments are great
