Re: Useful Indonesian Words and Phrases
heyy, how come i didn't know there is an indonesian language topic here?
I'm a native Indonesian so I can help you guys with the language.
Basically, Indonesia and Malaysia are originally from the same race.So the language is practically the same, but the accent is different.

hha you can say so, unfortunately it's very easy to learn, since bahasa (indonesian laguange) doesn't take notice of grammar in daily uses..
everyone here forgot about grammar, and use slang language.. sometimes in formal style there are too many grammatical errors which wasn't noticed..
for somewhat reason i also learn the full-fledged bahasa indonesia..
Re: Useful Indonesian Words and Phrases
that's true
having a perfect score in english or mathematics on national examination or maybe both of them can be said as good
in case of bahasa indonesia, having a perfect score is AMAZING
because indonesian sucks at spelling (wrong spelling everywhere)
example:
Giraffe in elementary level said as Jerapah but actually the correct spelling is zarafah.....so the tips are NEVER CARE ABOUT SPELLING like we did

Re: Useful Indonesian Words and Phrases
Indonesian languange is easy, but since there are many races the accent is different from race to race, and it sometimes blends with the real indonesian languange, therefore indonesia has like ultrabillion words,
but just to learn the real indonesian languange is easy
japan vs indonesia?
japan = super hard, there is katakana and hiragana, and comes kanjis, man... so freaking hard to learn.
indonesia = normal letters.
abcdefghijklmnop...

Re: Useful Indonesian Words and Phrases
^ kana letters aren't so hard once you get past the fact they look very similar to each other (like this: クケ [ku, ke] or ワフ [fu, wa], and はほ [ha, ho] or めぬ [me, nu]). Kanji is another thing...it just takes practice
I notice that Indonesian has a lot of similar words to Tagalog too...like "selamat" and "salamat" and "mahal" .... I guess it makes sense. Philippines and Indonesia are really close geographically.

Re: Useful Indonesian Words and Phrases
Yes,it's have a deeper meaning in Indonesia...
Budak it's just like some people that we buy for doing a Job...
different like Pembantu rumah tangga,we pay them to help we on the house...,Budak also have a bad meaning.
Indonesia and malaysia do have some similiar word because it come from "melayu people",that was spread in Indonesia & malaysia

I think japan is interesting languange too, because it have some cool letter, like hiragana, katakana, and kanji,
i know it's hard, because in my school, I learn japannese, especially, when it comes writing hiragana, or katakana
but, both Indonesia and Japaneese is a great languange

Re: Useful Indonesian Words and Phrases
yeah, sumatera and malaysia are not at the same mainland.. but they have so many similarity in culture, especially the language..
may be they come from the same great-grandfather..
due to closeness of geographic position, their culture have influence one to another..
