now that u guys mention yui, i remember that at first i didnt like her at all! just mentioning her name (in the internet) got me all pissed off. i'll explain now.
i was new to j music and the only one i heard was I.G. i'm pretty lazy when downloading music from artist i dont know so anyway whenever i googled I.G, yui's name came out everywhere. seriously i always asked myself what the big deal with yui was!!! so i got tired one day and downloaded a bunch of her songs. the first one i heard was tokyo and i completely fell in love with her music! now i understand why ppl make a big fuss over her
i wouldn't know who i like better IG or yui they are completely diffrent
there i wrote alot

Who wouldn't like such a beautiful face...i mean for the boys...her music is good...but honestly i kinda don't like her voice...its too small...no offense..just my opinion...but of course i like some of her songs.

i love Green a.live but lock on....idk yet. But YUI is amazing no matter what ^^

^Yeah, Lock On seems... Well, good but not great. Maybe I'm wrong and after a listening to it with more attention I'll come around to it

^ yeah sometimes it takes me awhile to like a song. like at first i didn't like IKI's Spirit too much but now i have it in repeat mode

By this time I'm sure most of you guys know that YUI went on hiatus and after 5 months of of disappearing lol, she's coming back...

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about her comeback.. oh and she cut her hair super short and dyed it blonde!!

would it be a good career move? anyway, i prefer the old YUI.

hmmm, first time i saw an artist goes from solo to group...usually it's from group to solo for higher pay XD

anyway, the good thing is YUI is back and is still doing music! I first heard her from Bleach in her song Rolling Star! but my favorite would be LIFE!

yes i agree, at least for me, its the first time ive heard of someone forming a group from solo that's why when I first heard of it, it felt a little strange... If I'm mistaken, can you please give me an example.

I believe she wanted to try new things, create new sounds, and leave her old image behind. Maybe it was better than to keep on treading the same roads over and over again.

She also went on a hiatus a while back, if I'm not mistaken, and returned supposedly trying new compositions. I ponder that even then she couldn't get away from what fans and the general public expected from "Yui" and so she put "Yui" in hiatus, changed her look, and joined a band. More power to her.

@Lav!tz True, it's about the music variety Honestly, well...for me, I felt YUI lost her touch during the Holidays in the Sun album and after that. Now, we'll see how it turns out with her new band

Well Ai Otsuka also went from solo to group just last yr. Her band is called Rabbit.
From what I read, Yui wanted to try new things and she found new interest and wanted to challenge herself. And with Sony, she couldn't do it because she was expected to make music that appeal to the public. So they made a deal. Yui formed a band that would allow her the freedom she didn't have..... All that I read, I believe from the YUI Forum, dunno if it true or not.
Ohh and also, she won't top releasing music under "YUI". I guess Flower Flower i more like a side project.

@monogrith7 really?? I think Holidays in the Sun was fantastic, especially Please stay with me. But idk if it a because I liked it or because it was around that time that I tarted lightening to her
But anyway, the rest after that weren't a good a the other album/singles.

YUI is so wonderful. her cover of Yasashisani tsutsumareta nara and tsubasa kudasai are among my favorite performances by her. she doesn't have Kiyoe Yoshioka's range but Yui Yoshioka's voice is beautiful
