kiyoe should go solo Empty kiyoe should go solo

Post by raen Tue May 27, 2008 3:13 pm

im a pretty new ikimono fan. started this year.
and ive reached to the conculsion that i think that the band is being held up by her. as in, if it wasnt for her extrodinary voice, they wouldnt have gone this far.

now im not saying she should leave the band, because hotaka's harmonica and yoshiki's voice really complement her singing, but in my honest opinion, she would do very well if she went on to do a solo career.

if she does go her seperate way in the future, i think her style would probably most ressemble ai otsuka.

share your opinions =)

It can't be that its only because of her voice. A good voice should have good melody and arrangement. I understand Iki songs are composed by hotaka and yoshiki. I admire these two guys' song writing skills. Thus, if she will go solo she will most likely sing songs composed by some other composers.
I pretty much don't want to agree on the solo career. I just don't like the idea. hehe kiyoe should go solo 469953

Also, I have yet to hear her own compositions to be able to compare to the multi-talented Ai Otsuka.

Just my thoughts.. pig

Maybe if it was back when they were just starting, and the band's name went to "Yoshioka Kiyoe and Band", it could have worked... =D
As bosjef said, other composers, different type of music.
Her voice is awesome, but it's nothing compared to the music they write and compose. Smile
Yoshioka completes Hotaka who completes Yoshiki, and you know where i'm going right? Wink
But as long she keeps in Ikimono, i don't mind hearing her sing some other songs.

Also, what's better: Ikimonogakari or some random guys playing behind her? Very Happy

In short: Yoshioka should not go solo. At least not right now.
Though, if she was in Morning Musume, i would say: "GO SOLO!" Very Happy

And that's my humble thoughts. pig

hmmm, i don think she should go solo.... it's the combination of the three of them which perfected the band... the song writing skills of Hotaka and Yoshiki, their hamonica n guitar skill ... and kiyoe's voice... hmmm... juz my opinion...

Same as the others. She shouldn't. Kiyoe is what it is thanks to Ikimono, and Ikimono are three persons.

Sure she has a beautiful voice, but it's an average voice, nothing too spectacular. There are hundreds of singers with better vocal abilities that don't get famous. She would be attached to Ikimono stigma forever, her name would be always something like, Iimonogakari former vocalist Yoshioka Kiyoe.

Even more, they just started. Two years after a major debut it's not enough time to know if a carrier on solitaire would be successful

well,i think kiyoe should NOT go solo.
it's indeed that her voice is awesome, but the arrangement of the songs that make kiyoe's voice is awesome are made by the other member.
and ikimonogakari have their own unique way in music, with the song arrangement and harmonica and so on,so,if kiyoe go solo,i think she will become just an ordinary singer.....

No, Ikimono Gakari is a band different, but if Kiyoe goes with a solo career, she will be a.............xD (i don´t say it xD)
She complements the band, the band are the three, and they are happy like that.
It´s true she has a good voice, a different voice, but for have a solo career she have to be very commercial, and Ikimono Gakari aren´t commercial.

cuz when kiyoe go solo, she needs to create her own style, and i think it quite difficult to do

Most of all, Kiyoe has already her own style. I doubt she could create a new one (most probably it would be the label the one who would do it).

Kiyoe sings Ikimono's (Mizuno's and Hotaka's) music, but she has a very distinctive style from the other two. The three members have their own style in a way. Hotaka is the shy guy, the one that it's always at the back but you can feel that he is a really big part of the group. Mizuno is the leader of course, he is the "big brain" and the funny guy but when Kiyoe is nearby he knows he should let Kiyoe be in front (that's marketing, yeah). And Kiyoe, of course, it's the voice, the face, the smile.. and the one who makes from three different members, a one big band. It always seems that she balances the group with her charisma.

She is what it is, and she is where it should be.

I can't agree more.. Kiyoe should stick into her band for now.. (and ever?)
I can't imagine if she creates her own band such as "Yoshioka Kiyoe Band" (reminds me of Dave Matthews Band) sounds silly enough.. tongue

Has anybody noticed that Kiyoe can't dance? Cool
I liked her voice and personality so much that I didn't notice she can't dance until my younger brother watched MTV Music Japan 2008 backstage (courtesy of Pizca). Kiyoe tried the "low low low low" dance move and it was kinda off.
kiyoe should go solo 991661 . So I closely watched their live performances and found out that her body coordination is not that good on fast-paced songs. I mean she can project so well on akaneiro no yakusoku but not much on beats like hotto miruku or Good Morning. Look at these videos: https://ikimonogakari.forumotion.com/download-f7/ikimonogakari-live-t468.htm
kiyoe should go solo 156354
Don't get me wrong but if she would learn to dance or to project some "body language" (i mean decent ones ok?Razz) it would attract fans more.

it's just what I think anyway...

^I can't agree more.

I always found funny how she moves on stage (bouncing, bouncing, step right, step left and bounce again XD)

She reminds me to Morning Musume's Iida Kaori because her awkward dancing. Just in case you don't know who she is or how she moves... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkO2WuYndmQ
