Oricon's Favorite Artist 2013

It's that time of the year again, and again Iki came in second, right after Arashi.

how they get this ranking list?

I think the voting occurs through Oricon's print magazine but I'm not 100% sure if that's the only way they do it.

By the way, if I'm not mistaken, Ikimono Gakari has been in 2nd place since 2010.

Arashi again, i hope next year it will be Ikimonogakari already.

and why is YUI there? I thought she's on hiatus and doing the flower flower

I hope for that too, I mean they're the most complete group in Japan, IMO.
I think what it'll boost they popularity is if they take a chance and travel/tour outside Japan.
Im positive that they'll be succesful in the rest of Asia, it's just a matter of Epic Records believing that also.

 

I don't care much about these magazine polls. Not representative at all. But of course i'm happy Ikimono is on the 2nd place. :-)

Yes, precisely. It just shows the favorite artists (active or not) for the readers of the magazine.
It's a very small subset of the population but a fun tidbit of yearly information, nonetheless.

Oh, and I suppose Yui can be considered active since she's with Flower Flower and Hikki is doing a monthly radio show too with rumors flying around about her possible involvement with Kingdom Heart 3's soundtrack.
