*New single* Warattetainda / NEW WORLD MUSIC (13-07-2011)

User another_truth from JPopMusic gave the heads up about the update on Iki's site.
Ikimono Gakari's new single will be featured as the theme for めざましテレビ (Mezamashi TV or something like that ) which will air tomorrow, April 1st. The song will be named NEW WORLD MUSIC (yep, all caps ^^), the lyrics were written by Mizuno (musical arrangement by Tsutaya Kouichi) and has yet to be given a release date.

Not too long ago Iki went on hiatus but here they are featured 3 months after. Let's see if this means they are getting back already. For the time being, I want to hear the song. ^__^

EDIT: The musical arrangement is not by Mizuno or any of Ikimono Gakari's members. Mizuno only wrote the lyrics and the musical arrangement is by Tsutaya Kouichi.

I'm looking forward for this single. I think maybe it's something very inspirational. It might be a happy and up-beat song again, but I'm hoping for a ballad

I'm so upset... I'm really not fond of this preview. Where's Iki's unique style and sound? What's up with this pop, electro and almost idol sound?

Well, as Marsela pointed out and it's clear in the song's title, Mizuno seems to have wanted to change the style a bit.
Hum... I'll wait to hear more and make an informed decision, but yeah, the preview seems to indicate a more popish sound though previews usually don't give the right impression from the get go. I think what is missing is the raw sound of the string instruments and the harmonica but maybe that's because the preview is still low quality as they usually are.

I love the preview. That's really different from what they used to do. It's good to know that Ikimono Gakari can have different styles of music. But anyway...Can't wait for the entire song !!

Hihihi...This song is Ok with me...Even though it not sound so "ikimonogakari", but kiyoe's voice made it so significant to Iki....Mizuno contribution is on the lyrics, not the music, so, it may be sound like iki in terms of lyrics, but not the music...Hihihi....Looking forward for the full song ^^

Sorry guys, yes it's Kiyoe's voice which is unique and recognisable, but the arrangement ruins the song for me so far... as for the melody... I don't see anything special in it... that's the kind of music I can't care about... a different style doesn't necessarily mean a lousy one. oh well, I guess I'll wait for a better version.

Yeah the musical arrangement may seem a little different from what we use to hear...but a li'l change in musicality wouldn't hurt that much especially if its not for most tracks in the album if they'll release one.

I guess what I'm really excited about is how they will come up with a good visual interpretation of it.

when i hear this song,i agree with you all who say this song is different from iki's style
but this song is not too bad,hehe i like this song,especially when i hear kiyoe's voice again in the new song and says "woo,woo,yeah" haha

BUT, the musical arrangement isn't what I was expecting~. Kiyoe's voice is wonderful, but I wish that Ikimonogakari would have stayed with their original style. Maybe they're trying to appeal to a different fanbase? I don't know. I'll still buy it, though, I've got to support these guys!! I still love them~!
