52nd Japan Record Awards
Ikimono Gakari finally won an award they deseve. Hajimari no Uta was selected as the "Best album" for the 52nd Japan Record Awards, probably the most prestigious music related awards ceremony held in Japan and presented by Japan Composer's Association. Also, Arigatou is nominated for "Best Song", an award which will be delivered at the actual show on December 30th.
It's been a great year for Iki and the "Members Best Selection" continues to top the Oricon chart with great numbers, not to mention that Iki was also placed second in Oricon's Favorite Artists of 2010 and Arigatou's nomination means that Iki have a "Best song" nomination for two years in a row after last years YELL.
Congratulations Iki!

I think they fully deserved this, even though I'm not that familiar with j-music scene.
Congratulations Iki!

Re: 52nd Japan Record Awards
So, the show is over and the remaining winners are known. According to the site Tokyo Hive, Exile won "Best Song" with the theme "I wish for you" beating Iki's "Arigatou".
I know music is a very personal experience and all but I think we can all agree that Exile's song isn't better than Ikimono Gakari's ballad (although I only listened to a bit of it). Check it out:
"Best new artist" was a category won by girl group S/mileage.

Re: 52nd Japan Record Awards
^ I couldn't even make it until the end. Rarely do I hear such blank and unoriginal, totally forgettable songs. What's wrong with those people?
Oh well. We all know that Ikimono Gakari are the best whoever gets chosen on shows.

Re: 52nd Japan Record Awards
(Aww you EXILE... I don't want them come back next year, because they won three in a row, and when Ayu won three in a row, she's going to stop, so I think EXILE is going to stop after this...)
But that was really close! I hope they can win next year, and with the fact that they're not doing live performances or releases until second half of the year, I think they can improve, especially because they have not received a #1 single yet - Arigatou only got #2!

Yeah, Exile's song totally isn't better than Iki's! I hate those people who judged this award!
Re: 52nd Japan Record Awards
i am very furious right now... i just cant believe EXILE won out of iki!!! There has to be some kind of mistake! i wish i could asked them to do the judging again. then, theres a good chance iki would win...
