what indies album is??

indies albums are albums that are not released under major record label like Sony, Johnny's n Avex...
they're released by small recording companies n the amount of albums/singles released are usually small and limited...
so, u can really see the difference in the quality of music, recordings, cd cover design between indie albums of ikimono gakari and the single/albums released after their major debut...

If I recall it right, indie is short for independent. Thus, these albums were independently released without the involvement of any major record labels. Financial constraints for an independent release is a big factor. This explains why there are only few copies made and are not as widely advertized.
