Ya...it`s pretty weird to see those men crying...i wonder what makes them cry when they listen to that song...from my observation, they started to cry/feeling sad when kiyoe`s sang this verse :

The waiter started to feel sad when kiyoe`s sing that verse then follow with the old man and then the waitress....

The lyrics are to aesthetic and it`s hard for me to understand the real meaning of this song...

hehe yeah maybe we need to understand more the lyrics...probably a 100% accurate translation...just cant forget those men who cried like a baby...hehe. ...but yeah this song is very emo and senti.

Didn't anyone else think that Mizuno was dressed cool? He looks like someone from the 1940s.

Kiyoe's dress is plain, but she's wearing white go-go boots! I love women wearing boots.

I'm quite disappointed about there's only one song in the single (other than the instrumental version), and the PV...

It's first time for me to hear a trumpet on their music... i dunno if its a real trumpet or just a key tone on the piano.

I liked the scene where kiyoe was singing and then there are bubbles balloons and all the audience mesmerized with her

Just found some interesting videos on YouTube. It seems they were interviewed for TV and that interview shows scenes of a new Arigatou live performance and a new concert were we get to see Kiyoe with a bit of her "boyish" look back. ^^

The band Ikimono Gakari will have a 3D music video for their newest song, titled “Arigatou.” In addition, it will be Japan’s first 3D music video to be publicly shown in movie theaters. For just one week starting on May 8, audiences watching the 3D movie “Alice in Wonderland” or “Clash of the Titans” will get to see the 2-minute video before the start of the film. The screenings will be limited to three theaters: Wald 9 in Shinjuku, Burg 13 in Yokohama, and Burg 7 in Umeda, Osaka. Ikimono Gakari is actually the second Japanese artist to do a 3D music video, as UVERworld also created one for their song “GOLD.” However, UVERworld’s video was limited to a private screening, with tickets given out by lottery to fans who purchased the band’s new album. “Arigatou” is currently being used as the theme song for the NHK drama series “Gegege no Nyoubou.” It is being released as a single on May 5.

I dunno if i'm the last person who knew this, but my question about the Arigatou cover was just clarified after I saw violet_ingrid's FB page, then I started to research a bit.

I heard from NHK, "Gegege no Nyobou" is about the wife of Nyobou (if im not mistaken) she is very loyal forever with her husband until old. I think the grandpa and grandma on Arigatou cover is them.

The 82nd NHK Asadora is Gegege no Nyobo. The story is based on a 2008 autobiography by Mura Nunoe, the wife of Gegege no Kitaro mangaka Mizuki Shigeru. The story revolves around the life of the married couple, told from the perspective of Mura.
